As we approach the end of October, all classes are finishing our first major project pieces.
4th Grade
4th grade students have been becoming familiar with music class expectations and procedures. We're experiencing the relationship between beat and rhythm through speech, movement, and symbol notation in out first project Hi!. Students seem excited to learn a melody on barred instruments to add to our project!
5th Grade
Students in the 5th grade classes have been doing a terrific job on our first piece of the year, Fais do do. After singing the song (in French no less!) students will learn the melody on barred instruments and recorder. We then will add harmony parts on barred instruments, and decide the final form of the piece.
6th Grade
6th grade classes started our first project Instrumental Piece #4. We've started this piece as a review of beat and rhythm, and we will add the melody and harmony as our project evolves. Other musical elements we will discuss as the piece progresses will include meter and form.
